Fergus works as a Professor of Criminology & Social Work at the University of Glasgow. As an academic and former practitioner, he has about 3 decades of experience of criminal justice, and has served on or advised governments, parliaments, prison and probation organisations, committees, inquiries and the boards of numerous third sector organisations. Despite this, he claims to have retained all his own teeth to date. All that stands between him and achieving mediocrity as a guitar player is ignorance, laziness and 5 knotted tendons in his left hand.
